About the Project: Golden Hour by Trella Design & Remodel

For Golden Hour, Trella Design & Remodel took on a two-story home for a professional couple who wanted plenty of room to grow and gather.

The style is modern traditional, built on warm, moody tones and layered textures. Trella kept the palette restrained, with soft transitions between colors so the home reads as one cohesive story. Rather than leaning on bold patterns, the designers let texture do the heavy lifting: layered woods, ceiling and wall treatments, furnishings and lighting all work together to create depth and a cozy, intimate atmosphere.

Why Rough Sawn Box Beams Fit the Vision

In a home designed around texture, adding natural elements that offer both depth and shadow to the ceilings was a priority. At Golden Hour, a run of Antique Reclaimed Rough Sawn Box Beams draw the eye down the hallway and across the entry, framing black lantern pendants with brass accents and complimenting the warm wood tones of the floors and furniture.

The beams bring exactly what the project calls for: natural variation in tone, visible saw marks and a weathered surface adds richness without adding pattern. Against soft white walls and trim, they give the space structure and an unmistakable sense of age, connecting the entry, hallway and adjoining living spaces into a single, flowing experience.
