RECLAIMED WIDE PLANK FLOORING & ANTIQUE HAND-HEWN TIMBER |866-208-WOOD

In the old-growth forests of America’s East and Midwest, there are still trees more than 400 years in age. They existed before Europeans set foot upon America’s shores. As the trees reach the end of their lifespan, they may die standing and later fall to the forest floor.

Over decades and centuries, these trees undergo natural weathering as they endure the elements of the passing seasons. When repurposed for hardwood flooring, this old-growth wood offers an authentic, exceptionally tight grain only found in virgin timber – a look that cannot be duplicated in new materials.  (Read more below thumbnails)

Begin a new chapter for your home with old-growth flooring.

Whatever your style, whether traditional or contemporary, there’s a hardwood color and texture from Olde Wood that’s a perfect fit for your home. With a variety of old growth hardwood flooring options – as well as timbers for mantles, ceiling or support pillars, beams, posts and more – you can enjoy the innate splendor of reclaimed wood without its inherent nail holes, saw marks, insect holes or antique patina.

Repurposing old growth wood that’s standing dead or fallen also demonstrates your dedication to preserving our nation’s past, as well as furthering its present goals for sustainability. All our materials qualify for LEED points under the materials and resources category and are guaranteed to last.

At Olde Wood, our Ohio-based facility gives us fast access to some of the nation's most prized hardwoods, enabling us to inventory a large selection of old growth wood. A cost-efficient alternative to our reclaimed flooring, our old-growth line is precision milled to produce quartered, rift and plain-sawn planks with a smooth or distressed surface. Available in both solid and engineered board profiles.

Our solid flooring is cut to 3/4-in. and 5/8-in. thicknesses and available in widths from three to 12 inches. Custom lengths and widths, as well as 1/2-in. thickness, are also available.

Engineered flooring provides stability and versatility.

For arid climates, we recommend our engineered hardwood flooring, which combines the strength and splendor of our reclaimed wood with the stability and versatility of structured flooring. Constructed from a nine-ply, FSC-certified Russian birch plywood, our engineered hardwood flooring is:

·         Glued and layered under high pressure and heat.

·         Impervious to excessively dry as well as humid conditions and can be installed directly over concrete.

·         Perfect for almost every room in the house, including kitchens and dry basements.

Our engineered flooring is made to 5/8-in. and 11/16-in. thicknesses with a five millimeter wear layer. It’s available in smooth surface only. A ½-in. thickness is not available in engineered flooring made from our old-growth line.[JC1]
