Hardwood Floor Installation & Finishing

Congratulations and thank you for choosing Olde Wood Limited for your hardwood floor installation project.  Below are some basic reference guidelines regarding the installation of your new floor.

Installation and finishing your new floor may seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. Our reclaimed and old growth wide plank flooring installs the same way that other hardwood flooring do and you don’t have to be a professional to do it yourself as long as you follow some industry-standard guidelines.  Although there are many different thoughts and practices on which hardwood floor installation method is best, we recommend adhering to the National Wood Flooring Associations guidelines on hardwood floor installation. If you are currently not a member of the NWFA, a copy of these guidelines can be provided at time of shipment.

As you unpack your flooring planks, it is important to remember that unfinished planks may not appear exactly as they did in your approved sample. Each and every board is unique in character and may contain features created from hundreds of years of natural weathering. It is this natural aging process that bestows your floor’s natural beauty and separates it from all other hardwood flooring products.
