Old Growth Flooring Descriptions
The lumber we use to produce our solid and engineered wide plank flooring has already been subjected to hundreds of years of wind, rain, sun and snow. It's this natural weathering process that creates the unique richness, strength and beauty that is simply unobtainable from the use of new materials. Our Ohio-based old wood flooring facility gives us immediate access to the nation's most prized hardwoods, enabling us to easily and efficiently inventory a large selection for expedited job completion.
Old Growth Flooring - Solid
A cost-effective alternative to our reclaimed flooring, our Old Growth line is offered either mill run through a circular saw producing quartered, rift and plain sawn material, or in a smooth surface. These old growth timbers come from 100+ year old trees that have either fallen or are standing dead.
Our solid flooring is cut to 3/4" and 5/8" thicknesses and offered from 3" to 12+" widths. Custom lengths and widths as well as 1/2" thickness are also available, please call for details and pricing. Our engineered flooring is made to 5/8" and 11/16" thicknesses, has a 5mm wear layer and is available in smooth surface only. 1/2" thickness are not available for our Old Growth line.
Engineered Old Growth Flooring
Combining the strength, beauty and appearance of our Old Growth flooring with the stability and versatility of engineered flooring. Our engineered hardwood flooring is constructed using a 9-ply FSC-certified Russian Birch plywood and is glued and layered under high pressure and heat to create a flooring material that is impervious to humidity. As a result, engineered floors can be installed directly over concrete and are perfect for almost every room in the house including kitchens and dry basements. The perfect solution for a arid, dry climate that is otherwise unsuitable for solid hardwood flooring.
